Elevating as Western Visayas' most prestigious and advocacy-inspired beauty pageant, Miss Paraw Regatta 2016 transforms into a much-hype and highly-anticipated event of the year by launching it as a region-wide endeavor since last year. Organized by the Paraw Regatta Foundation, Inc., this year’s Miss Paraw Regatta takes the competition on a higher level and more culturally-uplifting by harnessing not only its potential as a beauty pageant, but as a venue to the promote the unique cultures, vision for ecological preservation and empower West Visayan women who would become effective ambassadress of goodwill, initially supporting the tourism industry and share our cultural values to the world. This year, the pageant screening happened from different provinces and will choose 5 deserving ladies who will represent their respective provinces.
One of the most prominent screenings that took place last year happened at Robinsons Place Roxas Events Center in Capiz last November 29, 2015. The screening gathered 21 hopeful ladies who paraded in their Casual and Playsuit attires convincing our panel of screening judges which include Ms. Paraw Regatta Earth Province and Miss Filipinas Heritage – Culture Roxanne Divinagracia, Ms. Paraw Regatta – Aliwan Angela Yagaya, Ilonggo fashion designer Carlo Simoy and the mall manager of Robinsons Place Roxas. Out of 21 ladies, there were 5 lucky hopefuls who are now officially chosen as the representative of Roxas City and the Province of Capiz in the Miss Paraw Regatta 2016.

The Provinces of Iloilo and Guimaras screening for the Miss Paraw Regatta 2016 was held at the Consejo Hall of Tatoy’s Manokan and Resort on November 30, 10AM. With the same set of screening judges, the two provinces showcased their most charming and gorgeous ladies for a total of 35 screening hopefuls. After the screening, the judges and pageant committee decided to chose 11 official candidates – 5 for Iloilo Province, 5 for Guimaras Province and 1 lady who came all the way from Aklan to represent her province.

The provinces of Antique and Aklan are currently undergoing their screening period and will soon announce an official list of their chosen candidates for the Miss Paraw Regatta 2016. The photography coverage both for Capiz, Iloilo and Guimaras screenings was provided by Ilonggo master lensman, Felipe Uygongco. The Miss Paraw Regatta 2016 pageant chairman and executive producer Salvador “Tres” Solis assisted by production manager Jimmy Bedano, official pageant coordinator head Carlito Aldabon, official designer Carlo Simoy, artistic and creative consultant Edwin Duero, pageant director Bombette Marin and official videographer Jehu Rampola will present a spectacular concept and theme for this year’s Miss Paraw Regatta beauty pageant that would redefine the festival as one of Western Visayas’ best cultural event and pageantry.
